We will cover how the Canadian application year is structured, from the fall opening of OUAC for Ontario students and the direct applications used in British Columbia and elsewhere, through to the January closing dates that most families only start thinking about in December. We will show which supplementary pieces need real drafting time, including the UBC Personal Profile, the Waterloo Admission Information Form, the Queen's Personal Statement of Experience, and the U of T Rotman and Engineering supplementary applications, and why they are hardest to write in the same weeks that first-term exams land. We will explain how early offers are made on the marks that exist at the time, which in the fall means Grade 11 finals and first-term Grade 12, and what that means for course load decisions being made right now. We will close with a month-by-month plan from September through January, plus what Grade 11 families should be doing this year so next fall is a lighter one.
