In this free workshop, we will walk private school families through how Canadian and US universities actually weigh private school transcripts, why your school's college counseling office is not always enough, and what private school students need to do differently from public school peers to stand out in admissions.
We will cover how universities calibrate GPAs from competitive private schools versus public schools, why higher rigor does not always translate to higher admit rates, what private school college counseling offices typically cover and where they fall short, how IB and AP programs are evaluated against each other and against the regular curriculum, and how private school students should approach extracurriculars, supplementary applications, and essays differently from their public school peers. We will also walk through how top Canadian and US universities specifically evaluate students from BC, Ontario, and Quebec private schools.
