We will start with what is already locked. Grade 11 final marks are in, the courses your child has already completed are on the transcript, and both of those are what early offers get built from in the winter. Knowing this stops families from spending September on things that cannot move. We will then cover what is still genuinely changeable right now, starting with the timetable. Most Canadian high schools close course-change windows within the first few weeks of the term, which makes September the last practical moment to adjust a course load, add a missing prerequisite, or drop a course that is going to pull an average down. We will explain how to make that call properly, including when repeating or upgrading a course helps and when it does not. Next we will cover what is still worth starting, and be honest about what is not: which kinds of experience can begin in September and still be credible on an application in January, and why trying to assemble a new activity record in October rarely reads well. We will close with a short, grade-specific list, one for Grade 12 families applying this year and one for Grade 11 families with a full year of runway, so every family leaves knowing the two or three things that are worth their attention this month.
