AdmissionPrep is a high-performance coaching company helping students take control of their post-secondary journey. The SAT can feel like a massive roadblock for students aiming for top-tier universities. We do not just teach rote memorization or basic tricks; we train students to master the test format, build analytical stamina, and walk into test day with confidence. We are looking for sharp, high-achieving SAT tutors who can blend elite test strategies with high-performance coaching.
Compensation and flexibility
This is a fully remote, flexible role. It is a fit for a master's or PhD student, a top-scoring undergraduate, or someone looking to put their test-taking skills to work for additional income.
- Effective hourly rate between $20 and $25 per hour, depending on experience. Performance-based bonuses are tied to student score improvements.
- Shifts are available from 2pm to 7pm PST on weekdays, with availability for at least one weekend day (when students do most of their practice tests).
- We expect a minimum one-year commitment to your students. Consistency is everything when building test-taking habits.
- Must have completed (or be pursuing) a Bachelor's degree in Canada with a proven personal track record of excellence on the SAT, ACT, or standardized testing.
The role
You will work directly with students over Zoom to break down the test and build up their skills:
- Diagnose and strategize: analyze diagnostic test data to identify a student's specific weaknesses in the Reading/Writing and Math modules
- Master the digital format: guide students through the nuances of the Digital SAT, including adaptive testing strategies, time management, and effective tool usage
- Build accountability: help students set score targets, structure their weekly practice schedules, and stay disciplined with their homework
- Beat test anxiety: teach focus techniques and confidence-building habits so students peak on test day
Behind the scenes, you will also
- Use our internal tech platform to log session notes and track score progress
- Coordinate with our internal team to ensure a seamless student experience
- Keep your strategies sharp and updated on the latest College Board trends and question patterns
We are looking for someone who
- Is a standardized test guru: achieved a top-tier SAT score (98th+ percentile preferred) or has significant experience successfully tutoring the exam
- Is an engaging educator: can make comma rules and quadratic equations clear and easy to digest over a Zoom call
- Understands the big picture: knows a test score is one piece of a student's broader academic and personal growth
- Thrives under structure: reliable, punctual, and organized. Our students have strict test deadlines and depend on your consistency.
