Rotman Commerce considers academic results together with a required supplemental application. Start with the requirements for your school curriculum, then separate published minimums from an admission guarantee. This guide covers the current information for 2027 entry.

Which grades and courses matter?

For Ontario applicants, Rotman requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent and six Grade 12 U/M subjects in total, including ENG4U and MCV4U. English and Calculus are included in the six, not added on top. Other curricula have their own equivalents.

Rotman’s Ontario guidance recommends an overall average in the mid-to-high 80s or above and says all Grade 11 and 12 U/M courses may be considered. This is not a guaranteed admission cutoff. Check your curriculum’s current requirements before choosing or dropping a course.

What does the supplement involve?

All applicants complete the Rotman supplement. The current format has one prepared written response, one prepared video response and two additional video responses. The written component allows 20 minutes; each video has a 90-second recording window that includes 30 seconds of preparation. Use the questions, practice tools and instructions in Join U of T.

What are the deadlines for 2027 entry?

StepDate
Recommended early applicationNovember 7, 2026
Early supplement and required documentsDecember 1, 2026
Final initial applicationJanuary 15, 2027
Final supplement and required documentsFebruary 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. EST

Early submission can make a complete application available for earlier consideration. It does not guarantee an offer. A later document deadline does not extend the initial application deadline.

Check English-language requirements separately

Whether you need proof depends on UofT’s exemption rules and your education history, not nationality alone. If you use IELTS Academic, the current minimum is 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.

For TOEFL iBT tests taken on or after January 21, 2026, UofT lists 4.5 overall, 4.5 in Writing and 4.0 in Speaking. For earlier tests, it lists 89 overall with 22 in both Speaking and Writing. Check score validity, accepted test types and official submission instructions on UofT’s English-language page.

Use acceptance-rate claims carefully

Use an acceptance rate only when an original report defines the program, applicant group, year and number of offers. The current application guidance does not provide a single rate that predicts your result. An enrolment count is not an offer count, and a university-wide estimate does not predict your result in a specific program.

Build your own application checklist

Confirm your curriculum’s required courses, submit the initial application, activate Join U of T, complete the supplement and send any requested documents. Save confirmations and follow the conditions and dates in your individual offer.
