An acceptance-rate estimate is meaningful only when its source identifies the program or campus, applicant group, year and number of offers. Enrolment is not the same as offers of admission, and a university-wide figure does not predict an individual applicant’s outcome.
The official Rotman application guidance checked for this update does not substantiate an estimated 10–15% as a current official acceptance rate. This article therefore does not use that estimate to tell a student how likely they are to receive an offer.
Why seats do not establish the acceptance rate
A program can make more offers than the number of students who ultimately enrol. Some applicants choose another university, defer or do not meet conditions. Dividing places or final enrolment by applications can therefore produce a different number from the offer rate.
Before relying on a published percentage, look for an original report that defines the admission cycle, applicants and offers. Also check that it refers to undergraduate Rotman Commerce rather than a graduate program at the Rotman School of Management.
Start with the requirements you can verify
Check UofT’s academic requirements for Rotman Commerce under your province or curriculum. Record the prerequisite courses and any language or document requirements. Do not substitute a general grade estimate for that checklist.

An early application is not a guaranteed offer. Its practical benefit is making a complete file available for earlier consideration and leaving you more time to resolve missing items.
Prepare a useful supplement
Keep notes about responsibilities, decisions, collaboration and learning from real experiences. Separate your own contribution from the team’s work. Choose examples because they answer the actual question, not because they fit a memorized story.
For recorded components, use the official practice opportunity and test your setup. Work on understandable, direct answers rather than trying to sound like a business executive. Do not infer an admissions scoring formula from a sample answer or another applicant’s result.
Make a decision plan
